The Illinois Search and Rescue Council (ISARC) is a 501(c)3 charitable, professional, and educational organization which supports, coordinates, develops, promotes, and implements search and rescue resources with the underlying principles of saving lives and preserving property through its support of the National Search and Rescue Plan, the National Response Framework, and Illinois Emergency Operations Plan.
Our membership is comprised of SAR teams from all across the State of Illinois, and some surrounding areas, that have come together to further the professionalism of the SAR discipline. Our teams include organizations from public safety organizations as well as non-governmental organizations providing search and rescue services for missing persons within the State of Illinois.

CODE OF CONDUCT
In order for the Organization to exist, members of the Illinois Search and Rescue Council must conduct themselves in a manner that exceeds contemporary standards. The purpose of this code is to establish rules of conduct for all members of the organization.
- We will not engage in the use of illegal drugs
- We will not engage in the use of alcohol or cannabis during any official organization activity
- We will not go to a search scene unless authorized by the member's agency
- We will report to the best of our ability the honest facts of any search in which we take part
- We will conduct ourselves professionally at all times
- We will treat fellow members with respect
- We will conduct searches according to all state and local laws

Be prepared to supply our Duty Officer with your name, agency, call-back number, and a description of the situation and resources being requested. The Duty Officer will assist the requesting agency in contacting the closest appropriate resource(s) to meet the needs of the incident.
